Aircraft VHF Omni-directional Range beacon transmitter - for those of you who have never seen
one. I never realized how big one of
these had to be. This gives aircraft a radial range reference so they can determine their position with instruments. Still used today, but GPS can also do this. Great to have a second method for back-up. These are found near airports.
