So……a long time ago 6 girls went to the BVI on a Beneteau 42
for the Interline Regatta and 4 of the 6 remain great friends. Deb, Chris and Sherri are 3 of them still in the Dallas area (me only part-time of
course). Deb and I see each other
often…Sherri had kids…now that they are in college she could join us for dinner
at a moments notice. Great to see her. Also, none of us were married at the time,
now we all sport husbands.
Mark and I are retired and are living full time on our Gulfstar Custom 50 sailboat. If you are interested in just the boat re-furbishment, see posts Feb. 2009 and older.

Ready…set…go…
So now the boat is ready for a new coat of paint…but the
boat owners are not ready to live aboard during the facelift. We make reservations at the Smith residence
(Julie and Robert's House) and travel to Dallas to wait out the boat renovations.
For those of you who have never been on a boat when it is
'on the hard' it is a bit disconcerting.
It feels all wrong…
The other reason we really can't stay aboard is that steps
have become very difficult for Mark to negotiate - our sailing days may be
numbered. But hey, at least we got to
go!
Into the hoist…
We spend the night at the dock at Bock Marine and the boat
is taken out of the water the next morning.
The bottom doesn't look too bad…except where it is totally
missing at the waterline.
